Fivetran features exploration

This will be a long thread on what we can borrow from Fivetran. Doing it here because its eaiser to add photos and videos here. People can comment/review. I will add more things throughout this week so that everyone can see the updates here.

1. ALERS PAGE

This alerts page has overall system alerts. Two examples are below

a. It shows if your particular models have failed or not and the same is being sent to the emails.
b. Connection to warehouse is failed or not.

The email that is sent out to the user looks like this which looks informative and leads to the particular error

2. Selection of DBT models to run with a single connection.

I like a few things here.

a. That we can select particular models to run

b. When you select the final model it will automatically show the lineage for the model only

and you can also choose when to run this model in the schedule section gif you see below it gives us the option to run the test with this which I really like

c. Few details for the transfromation. Its useful for users to know who is editing the pipeline so I like this basic information on it

3. Resources and Support

From looking at this few things we can incorporate is adding release notes and support link for discord. I like this idea of having a link in the platform only. and status is something where they tell users about the uptime and downtime for the connectors they have for last 30 days.

4. Overall connection page.

a. Particular conn page

• Here I noticed if something changes in your connection with your destination then it will show it here and through this, you can again go to the destination page to connect.
• It has logs for each connection for which you can see last week's logs. You can filter on the logs as well. Available filters.

• Schema information is also here which shows what column you have pushed and it has some settings

5. Notification Page

In notification, Fivetran can control what we want to receive like connection and transformation notifications only
