Latest hotfix update to Microsoft.Toolkit.Uwp.* packages for UWP with some fixes since we've been working on Windows Community Toolkit Labs (see #4487) earlier this year.

Reminder the .NET Community Toolkit and the MVVM Toolkit code and packages have been migrated to new repositories and versions (8.1 preview coming soon). You should at least immediately update to leverage the optimizations done in the 8.0 release of CommunityToolkit.Mvvm if you are still on the 7.x packages for performance when used within Visual Studio. New issues and discussions should be opened in that new repository, and not here.

We plan to start porting code over to our new infrastructure for an upcoming 8.0 release (more info to be shared soon as we solidify our plans), look for updates in #4488. Some of this work will be done with Windows Community Toolkit Labs immediately (for instance the new GridSplitter is already there), while other work may be done in a new location or branch here (TBD).

Will the WinUI CommunityToolkit also receive the features of the 7.1.3 release? Or are they planned to be added in the merged #4488 release?

@Trix07 we ran into issues trying to update the WinUI branch in #4752. We decided it's better to focus on our efforts on our new infrastructure to bring everything forward together into a maintainable codebase that works for both UWP and WinUI 3. That's what we've been doing with #4487. It's also our incubation ground for new components to develop, build, and gather feedback on with the community ahead of release.

We've been shipping new preview components there that work for both UWP and WinUI. And we'll soon start porting over existing code on top of this infrastructure in preparation for a new unified 8.0 release. Not sure when we'll have a first preview of that yet though, probably at least a month or two out. Still working through generalizing some of our infrastructure and clean-up.

Thanks for the clarification, hadn't seen the #4752 post and just wanted to know if perhaps WinUI 3 package had been forgotten. But it totally makes sense going forward with the new 8.0 release instead, I'll just have to be a bit patient then 😄
