How to make a FlxSprite appear under the buttons in MainMenuState (softcode)

I`m trying to put a FlxSprite under the buttons (menuItems in source) in MainMenuState.hx with softcoding. zDepth gives a lotta errors.
Any help apreciated.

We dont have zDepth
use
insert(members.indexOf(menuItems), mySprite);
