Legality Question for My Mod

Here's the timeline

1. You beat mod A
2. mod A adds a completion key (random text file with a specific name or something) in a specific place on your drive
3. mod B changes if it detects that key in your system

My questions are

• Is this legal
• If so, how do I do that

To my knowledge, even though I've only used this in an addon I'm making for Codename, binding to a separate address should theoretically work, at least I'd assume it does. Unless the new saving system that will be present in future versions doesn't allow this, of course.

FlxG.save.bind will break cne (addons and mods, etc) but they are working on implementing mod specific saves since as of rn, every mod's save data is bounded into one hot pile of FlxG.save.data 😭

but yes you can get save data from other mods as of right now.

Ah, alright; though doesn't bind already save to multiple files as a way to sort of mitigate this?

No, codename engine has 2 different save binds, one for options and the other one is the FlxG.save

No, I mean the regular FlxG.save. To my knowledge, binding can be performed explicitly and saves to separate files for each binding, so I don't see why this wouldn't work.
