    • Take measurements for offsets for Ukulelebot
    • Research small, minimal touch clamps for Ukulelebot
    • Choose rubber stoppers for bottom of Ukulelebot
    • Pick a spring for Ukulelebot design based on force measurements(https://www.adafruit.com/products/166)

2/6/2017 Meeting

Agenda

  1. Software
    • Talk about adding graphical interface to code. For changing parameters or just setting I/O ports
    • Improving style/documentation: clearly comment, create a README file with detailed description, and move to the "Music Generation Algorithm" folder on GitHub
    • Set up the orchestra and play music!
  2. Electrical
    • Test sending simple MIDI messages to Ukulelebot Arduino code with solenoids
    • Go over circuit drawing for Ukulelebot
    • Soldering for Ukulelebot Circuit
  3. Mechanical
    • Shop training on 2/11, sign up and go if you aren't shop trained!
    • Gauge interest in Solidworks tutorial
    • Research small, minimal touch clamps for Ukulelebot
    • Take force measurements for string resistance on Ukulelebot
    • Pick a spring for Ukulelebot design based on force measurements

    • Parts list for Ukulelebot
    • Ukulelebot Circuit
    • Ukulelebot Arduino code

Notes

Project Ideas

  • Computer Vision: have robots read sheet music and play from it
  • Machine Learning: generate music based off an existing piece
  • Composition: Save what orchestra plays in a score, so it can be replayed later. Also maybe transform the score into sheet music that a human could read
  • Machine Learning: Have robot listen to a human performer (through a microphone) and generate chords/harmony to accompany it
  • Woodwind Instruments: recorder or kazoo robot. Oboe robot
  • Replace laptop with Raspberry Pi
