This implementation has a memory leak:

Can you please add details about your environment? (Available RAM, shell ulimits, etc.)

32 Gb RAM (18GB available), ulimit for max memory size is unlimited

Starting electrs adds around 4GB, few hrs in it adds up another 4GB, did not observer farther and just killed the process.
