[BUG]: Responses API Not Called in Playground Trace #11425

What version of Phoenix are you using?
12.35.0
What happened?
When running a request in the Playground, the trace shows that the request is being sent to:
https://api.openai.com/v1/chat/completions
However, the Responses API (/v1/responses) is not being called, even though the model used is gpt-5.2, which is expected to work with the Responses API.
