A bunch of annoying, dumb questions from a noob

Last month I was forced to have a Haier heatpump installed by my local authority. I don't want to use the official app after seeing the Louis Rossman video about them. So I installed Home Assistant onto my Pi4 & Android phone. Now I want to use this software, but I don't know how. Is it an Android app? Is it meant for a USB plugged into the Pi? Is it a PC program? I've downloaded the zip but I don't know what to do with it and how to get it working
