Cava not recognized

I copy and pasted the config shown in the wiki and when I run waybar I get an error:
[Warning] module cava: Unknown module cava
What am I doing wrong??

The error message indicates that the waybar package you're using was built w/o cava support.

How can i change that?

Build waybar with option -Dcava=enabled
