Make whole bar for example RED if a module is critical?

Well, the title describes pretty much everything :D

I have a waybar setup with indigo colored bottom-border.
I'd be useful/cool if a module could affect that bottom-border by turning it red.
(for visibility/attention reasons)

There have been previous post about this but they are quite outdated.
Has there been a patch/update on this?

Tried using css sibling methods but apparently using + or /and ~ doesn't have any affect.
Might be a skill issue tho.

In plain css you would use :has() pseudo-element: https://www.w3schools.com/cssref/sel_has.php
However it isn't supported by the GTK css subset (see patterns sections right below: https://docs.gtk.org/gtk3/css-overview.html#theme-inconsistent-checkbuttons).

More tricks than actual solution (and not very clean IMHO):

• use reload_style_on_change: true (see https://man.archlinux.org/man/waybar.5.en) then detect changes (e.g on-update) to critical state and append / remove the required css to the waybar stylesheet
• have 2 config, one set with name: $critical_class_name (see https://man.archlinux.org/man/waybar.5.en) then detect changes (e.g on-update) to critical state and load / remove the corresponding bar
• detect changes (e.g on-update) to critical state then add / remove name: $critical_class_name from the config then reload waybar via SIGUSR2 (https://man.archlinux.org/man/waybar.5.en#SIGNALS)
