Enable only to a specific desktop. Plasma + Hyprland situation.

There a way to toggle waybar to start on a specific desktop environement? I have Plasma and Hyprland in my system but when i switch from Hyprland to Plasma, it's boot waybar at start on my KDE desktop without being showing up on System settings. I would keep waybar only shown in Hyprland and not in Plasma if possible.

Hello shawny43 and other people. Have you find a solution elsewhere in the WWW ? I suppose you launch hyprland with uwsm as suggested on the wiki
systemctl --user enable --now waybar.service
Perhaps there is a beginning of answer in the uwsm github page, chapter 3 ?

Other apps are shipped with XDG autostart entries. Systemd automatically converts them to app-*@autostart.service units and starts.

Their OnlyShowIn=/NotShowIn= lists should align with $XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP items or be absent. Autostart entries can be overridden by copying and editing them in ${XDG_CONFIG_HOME}/autostart/. Generated app-*@autostart.service units are editable via drop-ins.

NotShowIn/OnlyShowIn are for XDG autostart desktop entries. Unit startup requires tweaks either via dependencies, or via ExecCondition.

For me running this disable waybar on Plasma

systemctl --global disable waybar.service
