[Feature Request] Abstracted function for shelling out to powershell

Continuing the conversation from #116 (comment), I agree that it would be great to just be able to pass args and for all the powershell settings to be sorted for you.

Here's an example of an abstraction I really like, perhaps we could steal borrow it? :)
